This story is about my highschool reunion. I had not seen Bill for a long time. Bill (-Bull) or william as his full name is was married to Karen who was like a mom to me. She took me in her home as part of an exchange student program from Holland to the USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I met Bill again at the funeral of an old High School friend in Manhattan. They\u2019re all standing in the graveyard gathering their thoughts after the coffin has been lowered, when Bill notices Jim, another old friend from his High School days. \u201cHello Jim<\/em>\u201d says Bill. \u201cHello buddy, it\u2019s been a long time. How are you?<\/em>\u201d asks Jim. Bill responds positively but he\u2019s puzzled as to why Jim is carrying an attach\u00e9 case at a funeral. \u201cWhat\u2019s in the case?<\/em>\u201d asks Bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh, this is a tool of my trade<\/em>.\u201d says Jim. \u201cWhat do you mean? What sort of tool is it?<\/em>\u201d asks Bill. \u201cIt\u2019s a high velocity rifle.<\/em>\u201d says Jim. \u201cNow why would you need a high velocity rifle?<\/em>\u201d asks Bill. \u201cBecause I\u2019m a hitman.<\/em>\u201d says Jim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDream on! You\u2019re yanking my chain, surely?<\/em>\u201d says Bill. \u201cI\u2019m serious<\/em>\u201d says Jim, \u201cI make my living as a hitman. Take a look.<\/em>\u201d With that Jim opens the attach\u00e9 case to show he does indeed have a high velocity rifle complete with telescopic sight and silencer. \u201cWow<\/em>\u201d says Bill, \u201cCan I take a closer look at that?<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSure!<\/em>\u201d says Jim. With that he assembles the rifle, fits the telescopic sight and then passes it across to Bill. Bill lifts the rifle to his shoulder and peers through the telescopic sight. \u201cWow!\u00a0This is amazing. I can see everything so clearly.<\/em>\u201d \u201cImpressive, eh?<\/em>\u201d says Jim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes sir. I can see right across Central Park. I can even see my own apartment on Central Park West.<\/em>\u201d says Bill. \u201cWait a minute I can see right through my bedroom window and I can see my wife\u2019s having sex with my neighbour.<\/em>\u201d \u201cReally?<\/em>\u201d says Jim. \u201cYeah, really!<\/em>\u201d says Bill. \u201cHow much do you charge for a hit?<\/em>\u201d \u201cWell I charge $10,000 dollars per shot but with this telescopic sight I only ever need one shot to hit the target.<\/em>\u201d says Jim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRight!<\/em>\u201d says Bill. \u201cI\u2019ll have two. I want you to shoot her right through the head and I want you to shoot him in the genitals.<\/em>\u201d So Jim takes the rifle, puts it so his shoulder, peers down the lens of the telescopic sight and carefully starts taking aim. However he then seems to take an age, as he starts saving the rifle barrel around and keeps adjusting the line of sight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As he waits, Bill starts getting increasingly agitated as he thinks about what\u2019s going on in his apartment. \u201cWhat\u2019s going on now?<\/em>\u201d he asks, clearly freaking out. \u201cWhat are they doing? Why are you taking so long? Why are you hesitating?<\/em>\u201d \u201cHave patience<\/em>\u00a0my friend<\/em>\u201d, says Jim. \u201cI\u2019m trying to save you\u00a0ten grand.<\/em>\u201d <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
