<\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\u201cSo, what are you going to do with the money?<\/em>\u201d he asks the man. \u201cBuy silver, make jewelry, then sell it,<\/em>\u201d the man responded. \u201cAnd what have you got for collateral?<\/em>\u201d asked the banker. \u201cDon\u2019t know collateral,<\/em>\u201d replied the old man<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWell that\u2019s something of value that you provide us with to cover the cost of the loan if you fail to repay,<\/em>\u201d said the banker. \u201cFor instance, have you got any vehicles?<\/em>\u201c \u201cYes. 1979 Chevy pickup,<\/em>\u201d replied the old man The banker shook his head, \u201cNo that won\u2019t do, I\u2019m afraid. How about livestock?<\/em>\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYes, I have a horse,<\/em>\u201d replied the old man. \u201cHow old is it?<\/em>\u201d the banker enquired. \u201cDon\u2019t know, has no teeth,<\/em>\u201d replies the old man. The conversation went on like this for a while but eventually the banker decides to grant the $500 loan to the old man. Several weeks later the old man returns to the bank. He pulls out a large roll of $100 bills from his pocket, \u201cHere to pay,<\/em>\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He then hands the banker $500 in $100 bills to repay his loan. \u201cBusiness has been good I can see,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>says the banker. \u201cWhat are you going to do with the rest of that money?<\/em>\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cKeep it close to me,<\/em>\u201d the old man responded. \u201cWhy don\u2019t you just deposit it in my bank,<\/em>\u201d the banker enquired. \u201cDon\u2019t know deposit,<\/em>\u201d replied the old man<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWell, you just put the money in our bank and we take care of it for you.\u00a0Whenever you want to use it, you can withdraw it,<\/em>\u201d the banker responded.
