Why I think Monsanto (MON) is here to stay!
It has been quite a while since I wrote a new post mainly because it is the season for my real job (temporary structure specialist) which took most of my time but there is one more reason I would like to share with you. I have found a new girlfriend.
So much for the personal stuff. Let’s get back to business. Monsanto, and why most people hate big companies? There are a number of conspiracy theories about how Monsanto is manipulating our food. But would you not do the same? They are trying to grow our food better. I just read a story about it on Bloomberg here But I have been playing with this idea for a much longer time. At the moment they are just a bit cheaper so I bought them today. I think food and farmland will become increasingly more scarse and Monsanto might be a way to benefit from that. Just recently I ate some watermelons without any pits in it and I think that is the way to go, geneticaly manipulated food. the last few years many analists have speculated on food prices and Farmland. Saying how there will be a shortage of food with the ever growing worldpopulation. Another effect is climatechance. The earth is getting warmer and that will cause more lost harvests and ruined crops. I personally believe that it will happen but not in the next few years. This will take considerably longer. We might see some efects over the next 10 to 20 years. So my pick for Monsanto is not for the short run. It has been on my watchlist for a while and I think now is the time for a first buyorder. They have had a nice correction from $126 to 115 and could be buy-able right now. I will be gradually adding more stock to my portfolio. Starting with the first few pieces.
