Now one of them is almost perfect to be bought. We look for shares that have a minimum gain of close to 50% a year for a period of at least 5 years, preferbly more. That is the hard part. There are tens of thousands of companies scattered over many markets. Finding the best/fastest growing companies with a proven track record is difficult. Only a few will make it. At any given time we have about 10 to 20 companies that qualify for this criteria. We call them our Wiseguys.
Graphics processing units, or GPUs, are in short supply in 2024, Wedbush Securities analyst Matt Bryson said in a note to clients Saturday. This situation is positive for Nvidia (NVDA) and rival Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). Both stock perform exceptional compared to the rest and are on our list of wiseguys because of that.
“While we would attribute gaming as the primary driver of demand, the sudden increase in cryptocurrency valuations has added another element to GPU consumption that should keep conditions tight and add to any benefit Nvidia is set to realize from its launch of Ampere into the notebook space this quarter,” Bryson said on investing.com
AMD has made massive strides in the CPU market against Intel in the past year. AMD reportedly held 22.4% of the x86 CPU market at the end of the third quarter of 2024, according to Mercury Research, its highest share in 13 years.
AMD has managed to chip away at Intel’s CPU dominance thanks to its superior product line, which is based on a smaller manufacturing node, allowing it to deliver better computing performance and reduce power consumption. For example, AMD’s recently released Ryzen 5000 series desktop processors can outperform their Intel counterparts according to independent benchmarks. said Harsh Chauhan on the motley fool.
That gives us only more reasons to believe we are on the righttrack. But the only real measure for us is their stockprice. As long as it keeps rising at least 30% a year for a minimum of 5 years we will keep trading in it and keep it on our list of wiseguys. That is our criterium.
